HazmatEasy

About HazmatEasy

HazmatEasy is a free compliance resource and freight-matching service for US shippers of hazardous materials — chemicals, coatings, batteries, agricultural chemicals, and any other DOT-regulated commodity.

Why we built this

Hazmat shipping compliance is genuinely difficult. The Hazardous Materials Regulations span thousands of pages of 49 CFR, updated annually. Carrier qualification requirements are dynamic — endorsements lapse, registrations expire, safety ratings change. A shipper who did everything right in January may be non-compliant by August through no fault of their own.

Most online resources for hazmat shippers are either high-level regulatory summaries that skip the operational details, or proprietary TMS systems that assume you already have a compliance team. We wanted something in between: plain-English guidance on exactly what you need to know to ship a specific material class correctly, paired with a freight network that already handles the carrier vetting.

HazmatEasy and Dock Optimizer

HazmatEasy is part of the Dock Optimizer freight network. Dock Optimizer is a freight marketplace purpose-built for hazardous materials: continuous carrier vetting, hazmat specialist matching, document pre-transmission, and detention prevention infrastructure.

When you post a load through the widget on this site, you are submitting directly to the Dock Optimizer carrier network. All carrier matching, rate quoting, booking, tracking, and document handling is performed by Dock Optimizer.

The compliance guides on this site are published by HazmatEasy independently of any carrier or shipper relationship. They are educational resources only and do not constitute legal advice or regulatory guidance.

About Conmitto

HazmatEasy and Dock Optimizer are built by Conmitto — a logistics technology company focused on the operational complexity problems that generic freight platforms don't solve.

Conmitto's products are built around the specific requirements of regulated freight: hazardous materials, temperature-controlled shipments, and high-value specialty goods that require compliance verification throughout the supply chain — not just at the point of tender.

Editorial independence: The compliance guides on HazmatEasy are written independently, based on public regulatory sources (49 CFR, PHMSA guidance, and ERG documentation). Conmitto and Dock Optimizer do not editorially influence guide content. All guides are for educational purposes only — always verify your specific compliance requirements against current federal regulations and consult qualified hazmat counsel.
